Possible methods :
– Surgical abortion (local anaesthesia)
– Medicated abortion
Medicated abortion can be carried out in a health centre up to 5 weeks of pregnancy.
Instrumental abortion can be performed up to 12 weeks of pregnancy under local anaesthesiain a health centre. This method has been possible in health centres since 2018, but few centres offer it.

HOSPITAL (PUBLIC, PRIVATE), CLINIC
There is no one method better than the other, but you should discuss with your doctor or midwife which one is possible and which will suit you best. You can also get help in choosing the best method by talking to a trained marriage and family counsellor.
If the medical abortion is carried out in a health institution, the period can be extended to 9 weeks of amenorrhoea, i.e. 7 weeks of pregnancy.
My expectations and my profile
– I will not want surgery, but I will need to be accompanied by health professionals.
This method involves taking two drugs 24 to 48 hours apart.
It is effective in 95 to 98% of cases.
1- Mifepristone tablets are taken during the 2nd consultation with the doctor.
If a psycho-social interview is planned (offered to all women but compulsory for minors), there is a 48-hour delay between this interview and the abortion.
2- 24 to 48 hours later, the misoprostol tablets are taken at the hospital where it is necessary to stay for 3 to 4 hours.
